dc.description.abstractThe thesis explores sustainable aviation's pursuit to reduce carbon emissions, focusing on technology, air traffic management, and socio-economic aspects. It questions the inherent sustainability of aviation, comparing it with other transportation modes. Solutions for aviation sustainability encompass airport infrastructure improvements, sustainable ground vehicles, and innovative use of aircraft airframes for energy generation. Initiatives to raise passenger awareness and facilities promoting sustainability are highlighted, addressing time wastage issues associated with air travel. The thesis concludes by discussing sustainable aviation fuel options, emphasizing the potential for decarbonization and increased efficiency in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
