This research article delves into the emerging social implications of smart cities, a rapidly advancing urban concept reshaping the global landscape. Smart cities, characterized by their integration of technology and data-driven solutions, aim to enhance the quality of life for their inhabitants. However, this transition presents unique social challenges that necessitate thorough investigation and understanding. The primary objective of this study is to bridge the gap in existing literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of the social impacts resulting from the adoption of smart city frameworks. Utilizing a blend of theoretical research and an in-depth analysis, this thesis scrutinizes key social aspects such as data privacy, security, equity, inclusion, ethical considerations, and the integration with rural areas, highlighting cultural and regional diversities. Moreover, it evaluates public acceptance and trust in smart cities, underscoring the human-centric approach in urban design. The findings offer insightful perspectives on the potential social issues arising from smart cities and propose sustainable solutions to address these challenges.
