| dc.description.abstract | This thesis investigates the development of novel galectin inhibitors through the design of organometallic glycomimetics, specifically targeting the limitations of previous ruthenium-based complexes. By synthesizing new galactose-derived ligands and their corresponding platinum-group metal complexes, the study performs a detailed structure-activity relationship analysis to enhance selectivity. Ultimately, this work provides critical insights into bioorganometallic chemistry, proposing a pathway for the creation of potent, metal-based anticancer therapeutics. | |
