Ziegler and Britton (1981, p. 304) proposed that migration and life satisfaction are connected through the supposition that the pros of migration outweigh its cons. However, in the countries of destination, immigrants’ expectations may extremely vary from realisations, and this difference could result in a lower level of life satisfaction than it is before migration. Therefore, this research tests the hypothesis that migration results in increased levels of life satisfaction regarding Syrian immigrants as well as investigates the relationship between sense of community belonging to host countries and immigrants’ satisfaction with life.
