dc.description.abstractMy project is a community-driven book-sharing platform that connects readers within local areas through location-based matching and personalized recommendations. It promotes sustainability by encouraging the reuse of books, reducing waste, and minimizing the carbon footprint associated with traditional book production and shipping. Using a k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) algorithm, the platform offers personalized suggestions to help users discover books and readers with similar interests. Beyond book sharing, it fosters meaningful social connections and cultural exchange, building stronger, more inclusive local communities. The platform’s ethical, non-advertising business model—based on donations, visuals, or premium subscriptions—ensures a user-centered experience focused on making the world better rather than maximizing profit.
