Our research has successfully validated a new panel of monoclonal antibodies, such as Bsi4036 and Bsi4038, capable of accurately distinguishing gluten-containing grains from safe alternatives. Using proprietary "epitomics" technology, these antibodies were engineered to recognize a broad range of immunogenic proteins in wheat, rye, and barley. Testing via ELISA and Western Blot confirmed high specificity, showing no cross-reactivity with gluten-free grains like rice, corn, or buckwheat. Notably, the study identified a bimodal recognition pattern in oats, allowing for the detection of "pure" gluten versus potential oat contamination. This characterization provides a critical foundation for developing handheld Lateral Flow Assays (LFAs) for rapid, real-time food testing. Ultimately, these advanced detection tools will help individuals with Celiac Disease and wheat allergies maintain strict gluten-free diets and avoid long-term health damage.
