| dc.description.abstract | Pintle Stock Shafts are usually produced via technique called Open Die Forging. However, it possess great numbers of down sides such as material waste, long time requirements and high energy consumptions. To avoid these downsides, in my thesis we decided with our collaborator steel forging company AL-ÇELİK Müh. Dan. San. Tic. A.Ş., designing a Closed Die Forging technology to produce Pintle Stock Shaft. The focus of this thesis is to design a suitable die to produce pintle stock shaft by using closed die forging and develop a proper manufacturing technology for this die. One of the most important aims of this thesis is to show that this part, which is currently produced by Open Die Forging, can also be produced by Closed Die Forging method. | |
