Book Cataloging Web Application

Abstract

CloudShelf is a comprehensive web application designed to enable users to track their reading habits, organize their literary collections, and connect with other readers who share similar interests. The platform allows users to search for books, maintain personalized reading lists categorized by status (read, currently reading, want to read, or did not finish), and provide ratings and reviews that contribute to the community's collective knowledge. CloudShelf implements a recommendation system that combines content-based and collaborative filtering approaches to suggest new books based on user preferences and reading history. Additionally, the application incorporates social networking features that allow users to follow other readers, view their reading activities, and discover new literature through trusted connections. The system also implements proper user authentication, password encryption, and email verification to ensure data privacy and protection.
