dc.description.abstractThis work deals with the applications of superconducting materials. We started by explaining how they were classified, who started to study them, and showing the scientific community how great their potential was. After being classified, according to their properties, we have several types of applications in which these materials can be used, such as in generators, particle accelerators, transportation, electric motors, medicine, We will then have an explanation of the studies carried out regarding the application of these materials for the construction of transmission lines, their costs, benefits, and projections for the future. We will then deal with the challenges and contributions that they can bring when we talk about energy efficiency, their use in transmission lines can bring many benefits when we talk about losses, but the cost of manufacturing cables is still a challenge.
