This thesis presents MoneyWhere, a web-based personal finance tracker designed to help users manage income, expenses, and savings more effectively. Inspired by the “pay yourself first” principle, it promotes proactive money management through features like income and expense tracking, goal setting, budgeting caps, analytics, and automated notifications. The system is built with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate (JPA), and PostgreSQL, following a layered architecture with encrypted data handling. The frontend, developed using Thymeleaf, Tailwind CSS, and Chart.js, offers a responsive dark-themed interface with interactive visualizations. Comprehensive testing with Testcontainers ensures reliability and maintainability. Overall, MoneyWhere demonstrates a secure, scalable, and user-centric approach to modern personal finance management.
