The emergence of neobanks, digital-only banking platforms, has revolutionized the banking industry, particularly among student populations. This research investigates student perceptions of neobank technology and its impact on their banking preferences. Utilizing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), we explore students' attitudes towards neobank applications, considering factors such as perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust, and behavioral intentions. A survey was conducted among University of Debrecen students, assessing their perceptions of neobank technology through Likert scale statements. Results reveal high levels of agreement regarding the ease of use and usefulness of neobank applications. Additionally, students exhibit a preference for neobank applications over traditional banking methods. Trust in neobanks was found to be consistent across gender, age, and academic level, suggesting a universal acceptance of these platforms among students. The study also highlights the importance of user interface usability in shaping student perceptions of neobank applications. Overall, the findings provide valuable insights for neobanks and traditional banks to enhance their services and attract more student users in the evolving digital banking landscape.
