    The major method used in family planning are contraceptives which can be either modern or traditional methods. This thesis specifically talks about the pharmacology of Modern contraceptives namely combined pills, Progestin only pills, contraceptive patch, vaginal rings, IUD and contraceptive injections. The use of contraceptives may also involve various side effects and drug interactions depending on the type or formulation. specific side effects have been discussed in the thesis. Oral contraceptives have pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic interactions with other drugs which I have also shed light on together with the various advantages and disadvantages of using different formulas.
