    Over the past few decades, the rise of overweight and obesity has grown into a global epidemic. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates approximately a third of the world population is classified as either overweight or obese. Obesity is the accumulation of excessive amounts of body fat. It represents a great challenge worldwide, the prevention of the serious health consequences associated with obesity. Selecting the appropriate treatment plan depends on a few factors such as BMI, co-morbid conditions, and the patient’s preference. Obesity treatment forms a pyramid with three major therapeutic options that impose on each other.
