    Exclamative clauses in Russian

    The paper elaborates on exclamative clauses in Russian. Exclamative clauses can be syntactically realized via wh-words, inversions, co-occurrence with interjections, NP complements, and verb-initial exclamatives. In Russian exclamative clauses vary. The main syntactic strategies in Russian are verbless exclamations with wh-words: kakoj and czo za. Based on the data described in this paper, exclamative clauses can be divided into two groups: wh-exclamative which occurs with predicates and wh-exclamatives mainly occur without predicates.
