Since HIV/AIDS is transmitted through body fluid and blood, WHO have provided ways to reduce global HIV incidence rate, mortality, and morbidity. The use of HAART with good adherence have drastically suppressed the viral load, reduced the risk of opportunistic infections, and has also helped to improve the immune function. A study shows that pharmacists play a major role in therapy management of HIV/AIDS patients. The advantage of pharmacists working in HIV/AIDs clinics, is that they provide detailed knowledge about antiretroviral drugs which may enhance adherence to drugs, prevent drug resistance and they also play a role in creating awareness about preventive motives, symptoms, and transmission modes of HIV/AIDS.
