    There seems to be significant influence of genetics on dentofacial anomalies, unfolding valuable information about these diseases. As more research is conducted, early diagnosis of many of these diseases will be possible and that does provide a few benefits such as reduced treatment time and cost, it helps prepare the soon to be parents of children with congenital diseases and more importantly it aids in improving the QOL of the patients themselves. In addition, once one member of the family is diagnosed with a genetically caused condition, the rest of the family can undergo genetic counselling and screening to help them take the appropriate decisions and prevent hereditary disorders that can lead to many complications in the future.
