    A Prosodic Focus Theory and Its Application in First Language Acquisition

    The aim of this work is to study focus marking and acquisition both in English and in Hungarian. I will provide a descriptive overview of what we mean by focus and a summary of two different focus theories: a syntactic and a prosodic approach.I will show acquistion evidence for an interface theory of focus.
