    Biofilms are relevant in each field of dentistry, therefore it is essential to fully comprehend their formation, behaviour in different environments and their effects on the oral cavity. Oral biofilms that are high in pathogenic bacteria can lead to several serious conditions like caries, periodontitis and in immunocompromised individuals, it can lead to systemic complications.
