    Radiography is a very useful diagnostic tool in the oral examination of pediatric patients. Radiographic imaging techniques are a valuable tool in oral care for infants, children, adolescents and people with special care needs. The cumulative effect of X-rays should not go unnoticed. The “ALARA” principle should be utilised by the clinician to avoid the unpleasant radiation of the pediatric patient and even the clinician themselves, therefore it is important to reduce the radiation load, the dentist must balance the benefits of radiography with the risk of patient radiation exposure. Overall, radiographs aid in the diagnosis of diseases, monitoring the patient’s dental development, and therapeutic progression.
