    Stephen King's The Shining is a book of evil possession which is pervaded by the presence of ghosts and evil spirits, the existence of telekinesis and psychokinesis and processes that take place only inside the characters’ mind. This masterpiece of King's is imbibed by the supernatural on its every page; however the characters keep searching for a scientific explanation throughout the novel that can help to deal with the horrors of the Overlook. Every unexplainable, creepy event shall have a scientific equivalent according to the characters which raises the question: is this book a novel of the supernatural or just an interesting story with scientific context?
