    Oxytocin, Prostaglandin and Ergotamine are the most commonly used uterotonic drugs. They can be used for inducing labor, augmenting labor and preventing postpartum haemorrhage. oxytocin is preferable for augmentation of the labor, prostaglandin is preferable for ripening of the cervix and any of them is good for preventing postpartum haemorrhage. another option is usage of physical methods like balloon dilation, membrane stripping and amniotomy.
