    How do circular economy practices help reduce SDG Food Loss and Waste (SDG Waste Indicator 12.3.1): The Liberian case

    This thesis investigates how circular economy concepts may reduce food loss and waste in Liberia, with target towards SDG 12.3.1. It delves into the present-day challenges faced in Liberia including lack of infrastructure, low storage capacity and insufficient waste management systems that contribute to high incidences of food spoilage The study compares the Liberian scenarios with those of developed countries by presenting success stories like policies (laws), public sensitization and recycling. In order that sound waste management may be promoted, the necessity for carrying out treatments specific to the local context such as teaching, regulatory upgrades and community participation is emphasized. The thesis delivers explanatory review about adapting CE mechanisms to enhance environmental sustainability and food security in Liberia.
