    Parkinson's disease is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder and ranks as the second most common neurological condition globally. It is characterized by a significant depletion of dopamine, a critical neurotransmitter for motor function. The dopamine deficiency associated with Parkinson's disease primarily manifests as motor symptoms, including tremors, rigidity, and bradykinesia. Traditional pharmacological treatments focus on restoring dopamine levels to mitigate these motor symptoms. Additionally, the thesis explores emerging treatments that offer potential alternatives to conventional therapies. The increasing prevalence of Parkinson's disease emphasises the urgent need for advancements in both traditional and novel therapeutic strategies.
