Összefoglalás

Az értekezés célja Robert Ascher (1883-1933) Der Schuhmeier című regényének az elemzése többféle aspektusból. Először is a történetírás, a történelemtudomány és a költészet elkülönítése, s az ebben rejlő ellentmondás képezi az elemzés tárgyát, azaz a disszertáció rövid áttekintést nyújt a történelmi tények és a fikcionalitás viszonyának történetéről. A kérdésfeltevés egyfelől a tudományos történetírás és a művészi, költői tevékenység szigorú elválasztására, illetve a két területnek a történelmi regényben, és annak egy altípusában, a történelmi-életrajzi regényben történő tudatos összemosására irányul. Ezen a kategórián belül vizsgáljuk azokat a nehézségeket is, amelyekbe Robert Ascher ütközött a Schuhmeier-regény megírásakor. Ezt követően azokat az írásos és szóbeli forrásokat mutatjuk be és elemezzük, amelyeket, Ascher felhasznált a regény megírásakor. A regényben található kijelentések, információkat a referencializálhatóság szempontjából is górcső alá veszünk és arra a kérdésre is választ adunk, hogy milyen módon és mi célból, milyen változtatásokkal használja a szerző a forrásokat. A dolgozat következő fejezete a regényben szereplő, cselekvő személyek ábrázolásával, szerepével foglalkozik, melyek részben kitalált, részben történelmi alapokon nyugvó figurák. Külön fejezetek foglalkoznak továbbá a regény nyelvének jellegzetességével, az ausztriai német nyelvvariánssal (illetve egy speciális bécsi szociolektussal) és a szövegben található állathasonlatokkal. A továbbiakban a Schuhmeier-regény keletkezési kontextusát vizsgáljuk, ezen belül is a szerző, Robert Ascher személyes környezetét, a regényírás motivációit és a Vörös Bécs szociáldemokrata kultúrpolitikáját és az 1930-as évek történelmi hátterét (elsősorban Ausztriában). A következő fejezet Ascher szóban forgó műve és a főszereplő, Franz Schuhmeier történelmi mintájának, a történelmi Franz Schuhmeiermek (1864-1913) a hosszú távú hatásával (vagy hatástalanságával) foglalkozik. Schuhmeier személyéről, élettörténetéről a kutatás számos értékes, új részletet is feltárt. Emellett a Franz Schuhmeierre való emlékezés és a regény (áttekinthető) fogadtatástörténete áll a fejezet középpontjában. A kutatási projekt keretében digitalizáltuk a Der Schuhmeier című regényt, melynek jelen disszertáció az első tudományos igényű elemzése: 2008 januárja óta a Projekt Gutenberg online-adatbázisában hozzáférhető a digitalizált szöveg. Az eddig szinte teljesen ismeretlen szerző, Robert Ascher életéről feltárt információkat pedig a Wikipedia internetes lexikonon keresztül tettük széleskörűen hozzáférhetővé.

Summary

This dissertation deals with some aspects of the novel Der Schuhmeier written by Robert Ascher (1883-1933). First I describe and discuss the separation and discrepancy of the spheres of historiography and literature. I do this on the one hand concerning the chronology of the strict separation from the historiography and literature. On the other hand I show the conscious mixture of these in the case of the historic novel and its subcategory, the historic-biographic novel. In the case of the historic-biographic novel I discuss the problems of Ascher during the writing process at the novel Der Schuhmeier. Afterwards I describe and value the spoken and written sources, which Ascher used. In the course of this examination I analyze the information, which are included in the novel. I do this concerning their reference and their modification in view of the author’s model. In the following chapter I investigate the mode of description and the function of the characters in the novel. These characters partly have real models; on the other hand the author invented them. Then I analyze the type of the Austrian german (respectively a Viennese sociolect) and I also decode the animal’s imagery, which is often used in the novel. The dissertation also deals with the context of the formation of Der Schuhmeier: towards the end of the background of the author Robert Ascher and his motivation to write this novel I analyze the cultural politic in the “Red Vienna” and the historic background of the 1930s (particularly in Austria). Afterwards I discuss the lasting effect, which the historic model of the novel’s protagonist Franz Schuhmeier (1864-1913) had respectively the novel itself did not have. By the way I discovered many interesting historic details in correlation with Schuhmeier. In the final chapter I describe the memory of Franz Schuhmeier and the (short) history of the novel’s adoption. During this Ph.D.-project, in which the novel Der Schuhmeier was academically adapted for the first time, the novel was also digitalised for the online-project Gutenberg, where it is available since January 2008. I also published the new information about the life of the author Robert Ascher, who was completely unknown before this dissertation, on the Free Internet encyclopedia Wikipedia.
