dc.description.abstractADHD is a complex chronic condition that begins in childhood, and is characterized by excessive inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity as well as executive dysfunction, lack of emotional self-control and motivation. The underlying neuropathology of ADHD remains uncertain, but is likely multifactorial, including a genetic, environmental and social factor. A multimodal approach is advocate for treatment of ADHD. Pharmacological treatment should be part of a comprehensive management plan that includes psychosocial treatment and educational interventions. Medications used in the treatment of ADHD include stimulants such as methylphenidate and amphetamine, and Non-stimulants such as atomoxetine and alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonists.hu_HU
