The topic of my thesis is a comparison between the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and its film version, The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann in 2013. As I see it the atmosphere and the characteristics of the Jazz age are depicted faithfully but the movie does not really convey the main themes of Fitzgerald's novel. In the following chapters I am going to highlight the similarites and differences through the presentatition of the plot, the major characters, themes, settings and symbols.hu_HU
