Ironic Meaning in Charles Dickens' Novel Oliver Twist and in Roman Polanski's Film Oliver Twist

Abstract

The text compares Charles Dickens' novel Oliver Twist with Roman Polanski's film Oliver Twist, especially concerning the ironic meanings. The thesis aims to examine the ironic meanings which happen to the readers of the novel and the viewers of the film and to present how the film's ironic quality is modified in relation to the novel.
