Formulation of diclofenac-containing microcapsules involves the encapsulation of diclofenac within a protective shell, typically made of biocompatible polymers, to enhance its stability and controlled release characteristics. The process often includes techniques such as emulsion solvent evaporation or interfacial polymerization to achieve uniform microcapsule size and drug distribution. Evaluation of these microcapsules encompasses various parameters including morphology, drug loading efficiency, encapsulation efficiency, in vitro drug release kinetics, and stability under different storage conditions. The performance of diclofenac microcapsules is crucially assessed for their potential therapeutic efficacy, bioavailability enhancement, and minimization of adverse effects, contributing to their applicability in pharmaceutical formulations for targeted and sustained drug delivery.
