Investigation of the effect of percutaneous balloon dilatation in benign bile duct stenosis
Absztrakt
Benign biliary stricture is a challenging clinical condition which can be treated in different ways. Percutaneous balloon dilation is recommended when surgery and endoscopic interventions fail. Although this method is used in Iran there is no published data about its safety and efficacy. We conducted this study to evaluate safety and long-term result of treating benign biliary strictures via percutaneous balloon dilation. Conclusion: PTBD + ballooning is a safe and effective method to manage benign biliary strictures with excellent short and long-term results.
