Transportation is needed in everything, in the human body for instance, blood is pumped from the heart, transported to other parts of the body through the arteries to other parts of the body and transported back to the heart through the veins. This shows that even before mankind became civilized to design roads and other means of transportation, transportation system has always existed in one form or the other. Transportation is important not only to life but also the the economy. If we picture a big city, there are residential areas and there are business districts. The business districts can be compared to the heart where there is a lot a productivity and the residential areas can be compared to the other parts of the body. People go to and fro both of them. Without transportation this wouldn’t be possible. The thesis discusses automobile industry which produces one of the main forms of transportation. I am focusing on the industries expansion into other parts of the world especially Africa and specifically Nigeria. In the first chapter, I would discuss the automobile industry, it’s history, trends, globalization of the industry, core markets, emerging markets of India and China, and the industry in Africa. Chapter 2 focuses on how the industry has being performing in Nigeria, and the benefits for Nigeria, if it hosts this kind of industry. Chapter 3 still on Nigeria discusses the business framework such as taxation, Labour, inflation et cetera. Then chapter four askes a question on why invest in Nigeria, and also tries to answer. Then it ends with my conclusion.
