The history of Econometrics is less than 80 years since it has been an independent branch of economics. But its prehistory can be traced back to the times of William Petty. Petty started the method of empirical quantity, which was the origin of the econometric ideas. With the rapid development of econometrics,The role of econometrics has been received more supports, and the importance of econometric history researching is recognized by people. This paper will only review the history of econometrics from the angle of mathematics.
