In our contemporary society, celebrities are inescapable. With the emergence of the paparazzi, it got more immense. They are everywhere we look. This thesis attempts to discuss the celebrity culture by explaining what we mean by ‘celebrity’, why we are so fascinated by them, what kind of celebrities there are, what impact they have on us, and how photographers turned into paparazzi. I shall also attempt to illustrate how Princess Diana became the first Royal celebrity whose every step was followed by photographers and how she handled the media attention. My aim is to prove that Diana, Princess of Wales, created a whole new era of celebrity.hu_HU
