Absztrakt
This thesis provides a comprehensive and well-structured overview of the role of inflammation in myocardial infarction (MI). It clearly explains the dual nature of inflammation—essential for tissue repair but potentially harmful if excessive—using up-to-date evidence and clinical relevance. The work effectively integrates molecular mechanisms, immune cell dynamics, biomarkers, and advanced imaging techniques, highlighting both their diagnostic and prognostic value. Therapeutic strategies are critically evaluated, with a focus on the limitations of traditional anti-inflammatory agents and the promise of targeted therapies such as IL-1β inhibitors and colchicine. The thesis excels in connecting basic science with clinical implications, emphasising the importance of personalised, biomarker-guided approaches. Overall, it demonstrates strong scientific rigour and offers valuable insights for improving outcomes in MI patients.
