Identifying obesity associated single nucleotide polymorphisms with the highest predictive value
Absztrakt
Obesity is among the top concerns of public health and all world health systems, it has become a debilitating condition leading to increased mortality and comorbidity worldwide. Genome wide association studies and replication studies have been conducted in different populations with reported evidence that show the association between several single nucleotide polymorphisms as genetic risk factors that are predisposing to obesity or obesity traits. Although, these results have been inconsistent in different populations, the aim of this study was to explore the effects of SNPs as a genetic risk factor in the development of obesity and to identify the top ten (10) SNPs with the highest predictive value that are predisposing to obesity.
