Research into high energy density storage media has become necessary due to the electric vehicle (EV) industry's explosive growth and the rising need for portable electronics. The last two decades, research in lithium-ion cell technology has been growing immensely and has been leading the batteries production and development. However, as the world progresses toward a future powered by clean and renewable energy, Sodium-ion batteries offer a unique alternative to lithium-ion, with higher power, faster recharge, longer life-cycle, and a completely safe and stable chemistry since it is made from commodity materials including aluminium, iron, manganese, and sodium electrolyte without the use of conflict minerals like lithium, cobalt, nickel, or other difficult-to-obtain materials with questionable environmental impacts. Manufacturing these Sodium-batteries consists of a long and complicated processes of a supply chain to ensure the quality and safety of the product, as a pallet of cells should pass from electrolyte filling, degas and sealing to roll pressing and cleaning before the battery could be charged and ready. However, all these procedures cannot be possible without the cell input unit which is responsible of preparing and filling those pallets with the dummy cells that will later on pass by the processes mentioned above.
