This thesis explores the role of arthroscopic simulator training in improving the technical skills of orthopedic trainees through a comprehensive review of the current literature. It examines the learning curve in arthroscopy, the different types of simulator available and the frameworks used to validate their educational effectiveness. The review also evaluates evidence on training outcomes, curriculum integration and the comparative strengths and limitations of different simulation modalities. Furthermore, it discusses the current limitations of the available evidence, as well as ethical, logistical and future considerations for simulation-based training. Overall, the thesis highlights the growing importance of simulation in arthroscopic education and its potential to enhance surgical competence while improving patient safety.
