Obesity: Etiology and Comorbidities
Absztrakt
This thesis explores the complex nature of obesity, both primary and secondary, and its profound impact on global health. Increased visceral adiposity and altered adipokine profiles in obesity contribute to various comorbidities, including metabolic disorders, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory disorders. Moreover, obesity has emerged as a significant risk factor for severe outcomes in COVID-19. The management of obesity necessitates a personalized approach, starting with lifestyle modifications such as dietary changes and increased physical activity. Pharmacotherapy and surgical interventions can be considered for patients with insufficient response to lifestyle changes. Ultimately, regular follow-up and ongoing support are vital in effectively addressing this multifaceted health issue.
