Open-angle glaucoma is an optic neuropathy that can lead to visual field loss and often associated with elevated intraocular pressure. Patients affected by this condition is often asymptomatic until the visual field is affected. Main goal of treatment is to lower the intraocular pressure which has proven to be beneficial in preventing a progression to visual field loss. This can be done by pharmacological medications, laser therapies or surgeries. Patients usually have a poor compliance in this condition and a lifelong monitoring is very important.
