The Function of Rationality and Irrationality in Edgar Allan Poe's Short Fiction

Abstract

My thesis evaluates the function of and the relationship between rationality and irrationality in Edgar Allan Poe’s short fiction. To do this, I attempt to prove that in Poe’s short stories there is a basic dichotomy created by the variation of rational and irrational elements.
