Acid peptic diseases are a group of many diseases (GERD and PUD are two most common diseases) whose etiology could be related to acid gastric secretion. H.pylori infection, NSAID use and factors causing prostaglandin deficiency were the prominent causes of PUD after gastric acid had been considered as the central pathogenesis with “no acid – no ulcer”. By increasing in screening, diagnosis and H.pylori eradication therapy, the prevalence of PUD has a downward tendency. Patients with acid peptic diseases usually complain about some unspecific symptoms and particularly, epigastric pain. Since these symptoms are unreliable, the H.pylori testings contribute majorly to diagnosis process. The treatment is defined based on the underlying reasons.hu_HU
