| dc.description.abstract | This paper concentrates on the language use differences between men and women by examining various greeting forms, swear words, use of adjectives and colour terms. This study contains the followings: In the first part a general overview of the examined topics are provided. The following part is devoted to the research. It is the longest part and contains all the relevant information in connection with the examination. The last part of the paper serves as a summary. Looking back in the past women were discriminated all the time and have always been treated in different ways ever since. In the past women and men’s roles were strictly enforced by society. Each gender was expected to behave other ways. What men were allowed to do women could not do. No one was brave enough to violate the unwritten rules otherwise they had to face humiliation. As women gained more status these roles began to change. It is said that gender differences still exist today but expressed in a more subtle way. It will be interesting to find out whether equality between genders can be seen in today’s society. | hu_HU |
