Digital Single Market Milestones
Absztrakt
I attempted to provide a structured introduction to the most important milestones, challenges, risks and demands amidst the continuous evolution of the EU Digital Single Market, with its current answers to the pandemic crisis with regard to public procurement in the Central and Eastern European Area, through the example of the Visegrad-4 countries. I restricted the scope of subjected countries and organizations to suit the quantitative thresholds of the thesis. It is increasingly inevitable to face the landslide-like changes of the legal, financial, administrative and commercial ecosystem around the world due to rapid digitalization. Despite the challenges we face together, the European Union is already leading by example, while also carries the potential to lead the international economy, even without the assistance previously offered by the Atlantic Alliance. Nevertheless, the EU seems to understand that in the new digital era, the sovereign state governments as well as their interest groups or supranational multilateral entities will not be able to sustain and further improve without innovating with the civilian and industrial alliance, in particular by harvesting the benefits of the human capital while approaching a new world order of digitalization and artificial intelligence.
