| dc.description.abstract | Csók István (1865-1961) hosszú pályája során végigjárta nemzedéke jellemző állomásait: megismerte a budapesti Mintarajzanoda fojtogató légkörét, majd - újabb csalódásokat követően - hátrahagyta a müncheni Akadémiát és Párizsba ment. Revelációként élte meg a Bastien-Lepage nevével fémjelzett "finom naturalizmust", ellátogatott a nagybányai festőtelepre, megérintette a szecesszió és a francia fauve-ok művészete.Életét folyamatos kettősség jellemzi: a küzdelem a "nagy mű" ígéretével kecsegtető hatalmas vásznakkal, valamint az állandó visszatérés kisebb igényű, emiatt felszabadító hatású, intimebb műfajokhoz, melyeken virtuóz technikai tudását is kötetlenül csillogtathatja. Sokszínű, gazdag életművét Révész Emese, a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem Művészettörténeti Tanszékének oktatója mutatja be, az életrajz és az ocuvre legfontosabb adatait tartalmazó bevezető mellett több mint 50 nagyméretű színes reprodukcival.István Csók (1865-1961) in the course of his long career had passed through the Budapest School of Fine Arts, and a stint at the Munich Academy, he ended up in Paris vhere he experienced the "refined naturalism" of bastien-Lepage as a revelation. He worked at the nagybánya painters1 colony and was influenced by the art of the Secession and of a "magnum opus" and a constant return to more modest and intimate, and therefore liberating, genres theat gave free rein to his painterly virtuosity. His multifaceted, opulent oeuvre is introduced here by Emese Révész, a faculty memeber of the art history department at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. The introductory essay covers the significant facts of the artist's biography and oeuvre, and more than 50 large color plates accompany the text. | hu |
