Literature Adaptation from Novel to Film Causes and Consequences of the Alternations in Ang Lee’s Film Sense and Sensibility

Abstract

My dissertation aims to observe the transition between Jane Austen’s novel Sense and Sensibility and its film adaptation, to discuss the essential and very often unavoidable alternations or modifications of the novel in order to create a successful screenplay. I also make an attempt to focus on the causes and the consequences of these necessary changes.
