Recent advancements in IBD treatment emphasize targeted therapies that more accurately address the underlying mechanisms of the disease. The shift towards personalized medicine represents a novel approach, using genetic, microbiome, and pharmacogenomic information to tailor treatments, enhance effectiveness, minimize side effects, and improve overall healthcare outcomes.
