The aim of my thesis is to investigate the representation of suppressed female characters in a male dominated, patriarchal society as represented in three major plays from the 20th century by Susan Glaspell(1882-1948). In her works, selected for study, Trifles (1916), The Outside (1917), and in The Verge (1921) I would like to analyze the unfulfilled lives of the female characters, the relationship between men and women and the essence of their marriage.hu_HU
