This thesis presents a thorough description of Senile Macula Degeneration (AMD), including its epidemiology, clinical aspects, pathophysiology and risk factors. It focuses on the pharmacological management of senile macular degeneration. It provides a clear basis for treatment actions by outlining AMD diagnostic procedures and differential diagnosis. It goes over anti-angiogenic medication, surgical procedures, and combination treatments, including photodynamic therapy (PTD) combinations for acute neovascular AMD. My analysis of dry AMD therapy options focuses on new methods and approaches to the condition's management, and concludes with available treatments and prospective future developments for pharmacological treatment of AMD.
