Pharmacological aspects of perioperative anticoagulation
Absztrakt
The management of anticoagulation in patients that are to undergo surgical procedures is a challenge since it interrupts anticoagulation for a procedure transiently increases the risk of thromboembolism. At the same time, invasive procedures and surgery are linked with bleeding risks that are increased by the anticoagulants being administered for the prevention of thromboembolism.
