dc.description.abstractThis study investigates the effect of key-pal project on students' second language learning regarding motivation and improving writing skill. The project was conducted between Hungarian secondary school students learning English and Canadian secondary school students. Altogether, forty students (four language groups in a Secondary School in Békéscsaba) and their four English teachers took part in my research (from the Hungarian side). After exposure to the exchange, students were questioned about (a) perception of their acquired writing skill (b) effect of computer background on attitude, interest, and motivation; Data was collected primarily from questionnaires, evaluation forms of students’ e-mails and personal interviews. 90 % of the participants said they enjoyed the exchange, gained general confidence in English, and felt that they made significant progress in writing and thinking.hu_HU
