This thesis was written with the purpose of investigating the current litterature available on the subject of insulin analogues. Recently a plethora of molecularly modified insulin analogs have been investigated and been introduced to the market with their benefit over older insulin preparations not being as clear as one would believe initially. In this work i have summarized many recent trials involving novel insulin preparations in an attempt to establish their use over older preparations that have been available on the market for decades.
